I really wanted to see DOOMGUY make a surprise appearance or at least have a teaser at the end, and felt let down by that. Wasn’t concerned with character development because the games really don’t have any. I did like her character enough to want her to reach that “Dark” side and destroy hellspawn in a brutal, clever, and imaginative way, but we didn’t get that and was disappointed. Joan Dark (Manson) did as good as she could have. Overall, the film needed to feel grittier and dangerous with a badass “John Rambo-like” character leading the marines. Joan Dark should have had an epic battle in hell. However, my issues with it are that there are many more DOOM demons to include, not super exciting action sequences (but not terrible either), and the big boss was a pansy. But it still looked alright.ĭude put a decent script together.

I actually loved characters like Jodie Foster's in Contact or The Silence of the Lambs, Madelaine Stowe in The Last of the Mohicans or the doctor in 12 Monkeys, Drew Barrymore in Riding in Cars with Boys, Christina Ricci in a lot of movies (Buffalo 66 and Sleepy Hollow come to mind immediately), Winona Ryder in Bram Stocker's Dracula and Heathers, Rose Byrne in Sunshine, Amy Adams in Doubt, Minnie Driver in Sleepers and Grosse Point Blank, Eva Green in Kingdom of Heaven and Dark Shadows and as Artemisia, Rooney Mara in Una, Jennifer Connely in Blood Diamon (and even Hulk), Raquel Weisz in Enemy at the Gates and The Mummy movies, Emmy Rossum in The Phantom at the Opera, Mandy Moore in A Walk to Remember. Just female characters from stupid political correctness feminization films, like Mad Max Fury Road (I really loved that franchise before), Star Wars sequels or Captain Marvel. America has destroyed decent cinema, that's the truth (while I admit it was also America that had created its greatness in the XX century) If this were the 1970s and it were Alien it would have gotten the same idiotic reaction from idiot American audiences. What they pulled off with that 's a 9/10 from me. What else to want from a movie of this budget? More are complaining that the movie used "Dr Bedruger" which about 200 million German speaking people will know that translates to "Dr Traitor", but it's actually the name used by the character in the game.īad guy was intelligent and, actually, somehow.kind of won. There was one such instance, but you'll see that he overcome it. I've never defended feminism and never will, but the men in the movie were not cowards. I saw someone saying that it presented men as spineless cowards. I'm not a fan of lead female characters, but this movie wasn't about that. This is exactly what I want to see in a movie. So forgive me for not jumping on the bandwagon> Yes, it was a low-budget movie. In an age when cinema is dead, it was the only good movie to come out of 2019 together with "Glass" (yes, fuck all the others, including your precious "John Wick" with dogs biting on men's balls just to push feminist "femme fatale" agenda and Joaquin Phoenix' overrated performance and everything else).
